Art Studio Tours

​​​​​Simcoe County Studio Tours start in May and run through to the end of November.

Whether art is your profession, your passion, your hobby, or you know nothing about it, a studio tour is a great way to immerse yourself in the culture of Simcoe County. Think about it. A self-guided tour of artists' studios where you can not only appreciate artwork inspired by the local landscape, but also meet the artists themselves, see their workspaces, and take in the very landscape that inspires them between stops. Maybe even snap a few pics for Insta along the way. With 7 annual studio tours happening across the county, you've got plenty of options. So hit the road, and see how many stops you can hit.

Over a decade of offering unique, fine art and sophisticated crafts. Self-guided tour to visit the studios and galleries of local artists living and creating in the Barrie and surrounding area. This is a great way to meet local artists and find that special piece of art to add to your home or office. The annual tour brochure, which comes out in early March,  will be available from many locations throughout the city and surrounding area​. Coldwater and Area Studio ​​Tour


The Coldwater and Area Studio Tour showcases the work of local and guest artisans & artists. We offer a diverse selection of work such as painting, jewelry, glass and metal work, photography, pottery, fiber art, and woodworking in studios, workshops and historic buildings in the lovely agricultural surroundings of Coldwater and the adjoining shores of Georgian Bay.

The exceptional group of artists and artisans of the Coldwater and Area Studio Tour are busy creating unique and innovative artwork and crafted pieces that will impress our visitors. Bradford West Gwillimbury Passion Made Art Showcase


This artist run event is an opportunity to showcase the work of artist within Bradford West Gwillimbury as well as guest artists outside of the community. The showcase will feature only original handmade work. Kit works, ceramics from commercial mold, factory or mass produced articles are not acceptable. Click HERE​ to view a video.

The Bay Studio Tour​​


The Bay Studio Tour features local artists from the towns of Penetanguishene and Tiny, Ontario, along with guest artists from the surrounding area. Their studios and galleries are located on or near the beautiful shores of Georgian Bay.

Over 30 talented participants create visual arts in all mediums including but not limited to; sculpture, painting, pottery, photographic art, textiles, jewelry, glass, native art, and much more.

Note that all patrons are required to wear a mask when indoors, as per the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit guidelines. Capacity is different at each location.​

The annual tour guide with artist bios, images and contact information, along with a tour map will be available from many locations throughout the area, including the tourist information centres in Midland and Penetanguishene. The tour runs from 10:00am to 4:00pm on both Saturday & Sunday. Images Studio Tour​​


This artist-run, juried event is one of Ontario’s finest and longest running studio tours. Over thirty outstanding artists and crafts people will exhibit their work over the 4 days. This self-guided tour roams from Moonstone through the scenic Horseshoe Valley and along the Lake Simcoe shores to Orillia. Come for the day, come for the weekend. Discover exceptional art and enjoy the beautiful fall colours of Simcoe County. ​This artist-run event is enjoying its 28th year.  We are proud to showcase the vibrant and creative artists of Innisfil, and encourage our young fledgling artists as they explore their craft. 

Innisfil is located less than an hour north of Toronto, on the shores of beautiful Lake Simcoe and expansive rural farms and wide open spaces. This self-guided tour

allows you to discover exceptional art and artisanal crafts, talk with the artists and watch their process, while taking in the beautiful countryside and communities that make up Innisfil! It's also a great opportunity for some special, one-of-a-kind gift shopping, with offerings in a wide range of price points! Midhurst Arts and Crafts Home Tour


In operation for over 30 years, the Midhurst Arts and Crafts Home Tour is long standing tradition for anyone living in Simcoe County. This self-guided tour is ever evolving with lots of local talent and friendly faces. It's a slower pace than your standard craft show and has a very laid back and intimate feel. Get to know the artists and take your time wandering through the village while taking in all the incredible finds!​​

The Artists and Artisans of Midhurst, a quiet hamlet just north of Barrie,  invite you to browse through their homes and studios and meet their guest artists. Click HERE to view a video.
