Saints & Sinners

Simcoe, Bruce and Grey Counties are experiencing a major beverage renaissance. Once a hotbed for bootleggers during Prohibition, the area now boasts several thriving (and completely above-board) alcohol producers. Wineries, distilleries, craft breweries and cideries are using locally-grown grapes, potatoes and apples to produce some of the best beverages in North America. The multiple awards our producers have brought home is ample proof that we brew it right. Use the Saints and Sinners map to find your way around Simcoe, Bruce and Grey Counties to tour farms and facilities, enjoy tastings, pairings or full meals, and pick up a huge variety of beverages to bring home. You can also enjoy home-grown festivals and events that celebrate the very best of the area.

Providers of Beer Around the Bay:

The Collingwood Brewery is a craft brewery that uses all natural ingredients, creating selections like the Downhill Pale Ale, Kingpost Extra Special Bitter and Rockwell Old Style Pilsner, all of which are available at the LCBO. In addition to brewery tours, the brewery has an onsite taproom that's used for everything from beer sampling to food and beer pairings to private events. From the retail store, you can purchase bottles, cans and Growlers. At the 2016 Ontario Brewing Awards, The Collingwood Brewery won a silver for their Kingpost ESB in the British Pale Ale category, silver for their Saison in the Farmhouse Blonde category and
a silver in the Honey Beer category for their Vintage Ale.

Creemore Springs Brewery was established in 1987 and is one of Ontario's original craft brewers, with beer brewed in small batches, in an open flame copper kettle with local spring water, the finest barley malt, imported noble hops and select yeast and no preservatives or pasteurization. The original brewery is located in a century-old hardware store on Creemore's main street.  Visitors are welcomed with a beer tasting bar, brewery tours, a retail store and an outdoor beer garden. Recently, Creemore launched an innovative partnership with The New Farm, a local, wholesale organic farm located just outside the village of Creemore in Clearview Township. For more information go to

Northwinds Brewhouse and Kitchen features a diversity of small batch beers.  Offerings can be enjoyed in-house, purchased in their Bottle Shop and chosen at select establishments. Ranging from the Three Stage XPA (in tribute to the local mountain biking trail of the same name) to the Hacky Sack Kettle Sour Beer to the Treble Hook Belgian Tripel. Northwinds has also been involved in a number of collaborative beers with some of Ontario's best breweries, including the Mes Ami Belgian Style Wheat in partnership with the Collingwood Brewery. Northwinds beers are complemented by an extremely talented kitchen that works closely with local farms and suppliers to ensure locally sourced ingredients.

Stop by their retail store to purchase beer in bottles, cans or in one of their 64 oz. Growlers.

Side Launch Brewing Company celebrates the area's deep-rooted history of shipbuilding and all of the beers are made with Collingwood water that goes through an in-house filtration system. Established in 2014, Side Launch is the winner of the 2016 Canadian Brewing Awards Brewery of the Year. Their  Bavarian-style Dark Lager, Mountain Lager, Pale Ale and Wheat follow the stringent Bavarian purity law of 1516 that limits beer to only four ingredients: water, hops, yeast and malted barley. The onsite taproom includes a tasting bar and retail store where the beers can also be
purchased in cans and bottles of varying sizes.

Wasaga Beach Brewing Company was launched in 2016 with their Beach 1 Cerveza, the perfect summer beer named after Wasaga Beach's perennial hot spot and the world's longest fresh water beach (87,500 beer cans long). Beach 1 Cerveza is the star attraction at the Wasaga Beach Brewing Company's 'The Beach Bar', situated in the Main Street Market, known for its great live music and local culinary fare. Wasaga Beach Brewing Co. is about sand in your toes and rock and roll on the radio and puts that spirit in every beer they brew. From The Beach Bar's patio enjoy some fun in
the sun, a Caribbean beach atmosphere, a variety of entertainment and souvenirs from the Beach
Bar Swag Shop. Wasaga! (that's how we say Cheers around here)
