Welcome to Essa Township!

The Township of Essa welcomes you to experience the outdoors in its various trails, parks and green spaces. There’s something for everyone to see, do and enjoy. Essa is home to four fishing parks along the Nottawasaga River, home specifically to Salmon and Rainbow Trout. We also boast some ridiculously good restaurants and bake shops such as The Sushi Chef in Thornton, Yellow Walrus and The Greekery Bake Shop in Angus.

Thornton and Angus Farmers Markets are another great way to spend an evening in the summer. The Markets typically run from August to October with Angus being on Thursday nights and Thornton on Friday’s. If farmers markets are your thing, be sure to check out Moondance Organics for local produce and events. We are also home to the real life Utopia. We hope you enjoy your time here!
