We Invite You to Discover Historic Downtown Bradford!

Originally incorporated as the Village of Bradford in 1857, the Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury (BWG) has grown into a bustling, dynamic community of over 40,000 residents. Downtown BWG is a vibrant commercial hub with a storied past. It survived two devastating fires in 1871 and 1959 and was the site of a bank robbery by the infamous Boyd Gang in 1951. Today, the downtown features a panorama of culinary experiences, including Mexican, Caribbean, European, Middle Eastern, Asian and traditional Canadian. Home décor, boutique grocery items and toys are all available in the many small, inviting shops as well as a number of professional services.

BWG is also the home of Carrot Fest, an annual celebration of our town’s agricultural heritage that has been voted one of the Top 100 events in the province by Festival & Events Ontario every year for more than a decade! This fabulous two-day festival features a variety of entertainers, events and activities for the whole family. You will find a huge selection of local goods from more than 200 vendors, as well as a Kids Zone, Youth Zone, vendor market, beer garden and many local restaurants. Come visit Downtown BWG to discover for yourself our festive spirit and small-town charm!
